Keto Friendly Shrimp Pesto

This Keto Friendly Shrimp Pesto recipe is one of the easiest low carb, keto or *just* clean eating recipes on the planet.  Because of the minimal prep time, it’s a good one to keep on hand. And, this simple recipe is loaded with high protein, greens and good fats.  So, you can ultimately make this work for any Macronutrient breakdown.  Because of that, another bonus is that it’s also gluten free!

What’s a “Macro?”  That’s a great question.  Macronutrients are your proteins, fats and carbohydrates.  And the correct combination of Macros, or your “Macro Formula,” is what will make your metabolism thrive.  So, it’s the correct combination of food that is going to give you energy that lasts all day, not to mention the best weight loss + fat loss results!  Because of that, or should I say lack thereof, energy and weight loss are the areas I’ve personally struggled with most.

So back to the recipe. I hope you enjoy this Keto Friendly Shrimp Pesto because it’s super simple, low carb, keto or *just* a clean eating recipe.  My clients love these types of recipes as they’re very easy to batch cook or make for a small dinner party.  Spend time with your guests, not slaving in the kitchen!

Keto Friendly Shrimp Pesto

1-2 lbs. Wild Alaskan Shrimp
1-2 c. Organic Fresh Basil
1/2 c. Lightly Roasted Pine Nuts (roasting is optional; raw works too!)
1 bunch or crown Organic Broccoli
1 tbsp. Organic Garlic Powder
Dash of Paprika
Dash of Sea Salt
Organic Olive Oil
Kerrygold Butter or Ghee

Optional ingredient: Cauliflower Rice


1. Thaw and rinse shrimp.  Remove shells if preferred.
2. Clean and chop Broccoli.
3. Heat 1-2 tbsp (or more if desired) butter or ghee in sauté pan on medium heat.
4. Add Sea Salt, Garlic and Paprika…
5. …then when pan is heated, add shrimp and cover.
6. Sauté Shrimp for 3-4 minutes…
7. …then add Broccoli, lower heat slightly, and cook for 10 minutes.
8. While Shrimp mixture is cooking, clean and chop Basil…
9. Remove Shrimp mixture when finished and add to plate…
10. Top with tons of chopped Basil + Pine Nuts.
Optional: For additional fat, drizzle with Organic Olive Oil!
Serves 2-3 people
Note: if you prefer “roasted” Pine Nuts, place them on a cookie sheet and bake in the oven on 225 for 15-20 minutes.  Pine Nuts roast incredibly quickly due to their small size and high fat content.  Be sure to keep your eye on them while they’re in the oven.  Remove before they get “browned.”
They’ll continue to cook while they’re cooling.
