Why You Should Stop Chasing Symptoms
Stop chasing symptoms! Ever wonder why you get what seems like a random runny nose or headache? Sometimes food sensitivities can be obvious and sometimes not so much. This is Sacramento CA Nutritionist Dani Conway, and in my private practice at Nutrition the Natural Way, I work with many clients that are dealing with uncomfortable food sensitivities amongst other symptoms that have unfortunately become part of every day life.
Believe it or not, the reaction from a food sensitivity can happen up to 96 hours from the time of ingestion of the offending food. Think of how many different foods that are eaten in a 4 day period. How in the world would you be able to figure out exactly what caused your runny nose or headache 4 days later? There are many other symptoms like these that are a result of consuming a food you’re sensitive to. Other examples are itchy skin or conditions such as Eczema or Rosacea, Asthma or shortness of breath to fatigue, headaches/ migraines, bloating, constipation, diarrhea and many more. All these symptoms are uncomfortable and typically I find that most people just learn to “deal” with them.

You can use a food log and track what you’re doing and symptoms that happen. This will take some time so be patient. It is worth it. In my private practice at Nutrition the Natural Way, I use a blood test with clients as this is the quickest way to learn which foods are causing trouble. It might take a while to figure things out through journaling, though it can be done. If you’d like to go the quicker and more thorough route, the blood test comes back within about a week and tests for 170 total items! …30 food chemicals and 140 foods.
